A police curfew will come into effect from 4.30 p.m in several police divisions in the Puttalam district and the Kochchikade Police division to facilitate quarantine operations to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The police areas under curfew are Puttlam, Anamduwa, Kalpitiya,Karuwalagaswewa, Mundalama, Nwagatheagama,Pallama,Wanathawilluwa,Udappuwa,Norochchole, Saliyawewa, Chillaw, Dankotuwa, Koswatte, Madampe, Marawila, Wennapuwa, Arachchikattuwa and Kochchikade in the Negombo division.
The curfew will not be effective for those travelling to hand over nominations.
