The curfew currently in effect for the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam has been further extended till 5.00am on May 4, the Presidential Secretariat said this evening (25).
Curfew in all other districts will be lifted at 5.00am on Monday, April 27 and reimposed at 8.00pm the same day. Curfew in these districts will be imposed daily at 8.00pm and lifted at 5.00am until Friday, May 1.
The President's Office added that in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam, arrangements will be made to enable both public and private sector institutions to operate from May 4 even amidst curfew.
Departments, corporations and statutory boards under the purview of the Government, as well as private sector factories, building construction businesses, other workplaces, vegetable, fish and grocery stores are allowed to remain open.
Private sector offices are advised to open at 10.00am. Heads of both government and private sector institutions must make plans during the next week regarding how their offices and workplaces will operate from May 4, the President's Office further said.
