Curfew passes would not be issued except for essential services and for the patients in critical conditions under the recommendations of the Divisional Medical Officer of Health (MOH) or Public Health Inspector (PHI), police said.
The Police said that it is strictly enforcing curfew law to restrict people moving despite warnings by the health and security authorities. Media can also get curfew passes under essential services.
DIG Ajith Rohana said as healthcare services and media had been identified as essential services, special curfew passes would be issued for them and for other required services. Meanwhile, the official identity cards of the respective services are also accepted as curfew passes.
