The curfew in effect for 19 districts in the country was temporarily lifted at 6.00am today (9). It will be reimposed at 4.00pm this everning and continue until 6.00am on Tuesday, April 14.
However, the curfew remains until further notice in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy and Jaffna. Additionally, police also announced last night that the curfew will not be lifted until further notice in the police divisions of Ratnapura and Pelmadulla.
All travel between districts remains strictly prohibited except for those from essential services.
Authorities have urged the public to pratice social distancing guidelines when venturing out in districts where curfew has been lifted.
