Customs Director resigns
Customs Director General Jagath P. Wijeweera tendered his resignation letter to the Finance Ministry Secretary yesterday, the government news portal reported.
Finance Minister Ravi Karunaratne was quoted as telling the media that they accepted his resignation.
Wijeweera decided to resign from his post due to personal reasons it was reported.
The minister said they are now strengthening Sri Lanka Customs and were finding ways and means to increase government revenue by making it a more efficient and effective entity.
