In order to prevent delays in the reporting of cyber crime, two more cyber crime complaints units in Kandy and Matara, will be opended in the near future, a senior official at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said.
According to the official, a common complaint among the public is that when an individual fall vicitim to a cyber crime he/she has to come into Colombo to lodge a complaint.
The units are being opened in regions where the most number of complaints have been received from and in two months time another unit will be opened in Jaffna.
Further, units will be opened depending on the number of cyber crime complaints, the official said.
