The driver of the defender jeep who was involved in the hit-and-run incident which led to the death of a Borella traffic OIC has been further remanded until April 1.
This was announced when the accused, Omesh Ratnayake, was produced before the Additional Magistrate Shalani Perera today (Mar 18).
Meanwhile, a witness in the case was able to identify the suspect when he was produced before an identification parade today.
The identification had taken place before Acting Magistrate P.D. Perera before the commencement of today's hearing.
Previously, seven other suspects who were in the Defender Jeep at the time of the hit-and run incident including the son of MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage were released on bail.
