The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to direct the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to issue a provisional occupancy certificate to Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for holding India–Sri Lanka T-20 international match on February 12, the Statesman reported.
DDCA on Thursday had moved the high court seeking directions to the MCD for issuance of a provisional occupancy certificate. The matter was mentioned before a bench of Justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva which listed the matter for hearing on Friday.
Appearing for DDCA, advocate Sangram Pattnaik sought an urgent hearing, saying if the cricketing body does not get all the clearances for the match, then BCCI could shift the venue from Ferozshah Kotla Stadium.
