Against the backdrop of Children's Day celebrations today (Oct 1), a demonstration was staged in Batticaloa demanding justice for children who disappeared during the war.
More than 100 individuals including children, clergy, and families of disappeared children, took part in the demonstration outside the Mahatma Gandhi Park in Batticaloa.
They held placards which read ‘What mistakes did children commit?’, and ‘Will these children return?’, urging authorities to bring those responsible before the law.
