The incidence of dengue fever has increased in the Kalutara district. According to reports the number of patients suffering from dengue in Beruwala and Kalutara collectively has been collated at 2,000 to date.
The severity of the condition in the area has prompted government officials to close offices and take to the streets to inspect homes and outlets to warn and advise residents to be cautious and take precautions. Some officials were seen according to our correspondent making announcements via loud speaker to those in the area.
