The number of dengue-related cases has been gradually increasing due to the South-West monsoonal rains, the National Dengue Control Unit said.
According to the health body, this is due to the rise in dengue breeding grounds which have been formed as a result of intermittent rains.
Meanwhile, Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Mawanella, Galle, Matara, and Rantapura have been identified as districts with the highest risk of dengue fever.
The Health Ministry's Dengue Control Unit along with health officials in these areas had conducted clean-up campaigns between June 12-14 in a bid to curb the spread of dengue.
