A suspect identified as T Banduratne alias 'Dialog' who escaped during a court hearing by jumping into the seas in Galle was arrested today (Mar 29).
The suspect, a notorious criminal had fled the dock in which he was held custody by prison officials during today's hearing at the Galle Magistrates Court.
Prison officials gave chase to the suspect and fired gunshots before he jumped into the sea to evade arrest.
Later, prison officials had arrested the suspect by travelling on a boat.
