Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has imposed a fine of USD 7000 on national test captain Dimuth Karunaratne over a recent motor accident.
The test captain was invloved in a motor accident involving his jeep and a three wheeler in the early hours of Sunday thereby injuring one.
Following the accident, SLC issued a statement stating that an investigation will be carried out into the accident.
Karunaratne was granted two surety bails of Rs 100,000 each when he was produced before the Colombo Traffic Court yesterday (Apr 1).
The case against the player will be taken up for further hearing on May 02.
Meanwhile, the driving license of the national test captain has also been temporarily suspended until the conclusion of the court hearing.
