Disruptions along Main and Northern Railway Lines

Train delays were experienced along the Main Line this morning after a train broke down at Daraluwa between Gampaha and Veyangoda. 

the delay caused severe inconvenience to office workers as many office trains traveling along the main line were delayed as a result of the train that was stopped on the tracks. 

Meanwhile, disruptions to services along the Northern Line continued this morning following the derailment of the 'Rajarata Rejina' derailed at Medawachchiya on Monday night (13). As a result, train services along the Northern Line have been restricted to Anuradhapura until carriages that derailed are placed back on tracks and the damage to the tracks are repaired. 

Four postal trains that were supposed to run along the Northern and Mannar Lines last night were cancelled as a result of the incident.
