District court further extends enjoining order on SLFP Central Committe meetings

The Colombo District Court has further extended an enjoining order today, staying the convening of Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee meetings without prior approval of the party Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena until August 24.

This order was initiated on July 15 following a petition by Prasanna Solangaarachchi.

The events developed following the convening of SLFP Central Committee by its General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa on July 15 which the president cancelled within hours.
