The Election Commission (EC) has urged all print and electronic media to refrain from broadcasting or publishing election propaganda material featuring children.
The EC notes in a press release that election monitoring groups have raised concerns over a large number of propaganda advertisements featuring children. The groups have noted that using children to promote election candidates can have a negative impact on the children's personality and mental well-being.
Accordingly, the EC has urged the media to refrain from giving space to any such propaganda material.
