A vehicle parade to urge the strengthening of democracy was launched by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe opposite the Colombo Municipal Council early this morning.
The parade which has been named 'Yukthiye Yaathrawa' (Drive for Justice) will be held today (Dec 01) and tomorrow.
"Clergymen of all ethnicities are expected to join the parade. We will obtain blessings from all the important religious places of worship from Colombo to Mahiyangana" MP Harin Fernando told Times Online.
MP Fernando also said that more parades of this nature will be organised in future.
The parade is expected to reach the Mahiyanga Raja Viharaya by tomorrow.
