Ther driver of the defender jeep who was involved in a hit and run incident which left a traffic OIC of the Borella Police critically injured, has been remanded until March 11.
The remand order was issued when the suspect, K. Udesh Rathnayakae was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Isuru Netticumara today (Feb 25).
Meanwhile, seven other suspects including the son of Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage were ordered to be released on bail.
It is reported that the media and the general public were barred from witnessing the court proceedings since court had conducted a closed trial on the case.
