The dumping of mixed waste at the Kerawalapitiya garbage dumping yard has been banned from this week, a Megapolis and Western Development Ministry official said.
This regulation had been imposed due to several issues including space problems, the official noted.
Accordingly, the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) would be permitted to dump only segregated waste at the dumping site.
