The Education Ministry has taken steps to set-up an independent body to monitor school education, the Ministry said in a press release.
The setting up of this body which has already received cabinet approval will be tasked with determining the quality and accreditation of educational establishments.
An education expert would be appointed as the Commissioner General of this special body upon the instructions of the Education Minister after receiving cabinet approval.
Applications will be called to select other members of the board who would be appointed following an interview, the Ministry noted.
According to the Education Ministry, this body will conduct frequent visits to schools which require development and take necessary measures to uplift the standards of these institutions.
