The Sri Lanka Council for the blind, as the forerunner and the principal service provider organisation for the vision impaired in Sri Lanka organised a ceremony to mark the awarding of educational supplies to deserving vision impaired students pursuing higher studied for the 28th consecutive year today (August 23).
This programme is made possible with the kind sponsorship of the Korean Businessmen's Association in Sri Lanka.
The ceremony took place at the Amaradasa Gunawardena Auditorium at the Council of the Blind in Rajagiriya. The occasion was presided by the Chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya as Chief Guest. Also in attendance was the Ambassador for the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka Lee Heon and the Chairman of the Korean Businessmen's Association Y.K. Chung.
