A team of Police officers heading for duty at a rally of Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa, has been attacked by a wild elephant in Anuradhapura today (Oct 30).
It is reported that three police officers who had been travelling in a car, had been attacked by the elephant which had obstructed the road in the Kahatagasdigiliya area.
However, the police officers had escaped unhurt. Residents had taken steps to chase the elephant from the area.
