A spokesperson for the Epidemiology unit regarding cases of Swine Flu said they had not received any reports of an unusual situation with high number of swine flu reported or admissions from Maldives.
However, Maldivian media reports said there were over 100 cases of swine flu reported.
Meanwhile Lanka Hospitals in Colombo today dismissed reports that a number Maldivian patients suffering from swine flu were admitted to the hospital.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Dr. Prasad Medawatte said he categorically rejects claims circulating in social media that Maldivian patients diagnosed with swine flu are admitted to Lanka Hospitals and have died.
'Lanka Hospitals wishes to announce that only 12 Maldivian patients have been admitted currently at Lanka Hospitals, out of which 10 are surgical and 2 are medical patients; none with swine flu', he said..
