The European Union's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Denis Chaibi and the Head of the EU Mission's Political, Trade and Communications Section Thorsten Bargfrede met with Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena at the Trade Ministry premises today (3).
The Trade Ministry said in a statement that during the meeting, the Ambassador expressed the EU's trust in the excellent quality of export products from Sri Lanka. He also said Sri Lanka will be able to obtain the Geographical Indication (GI) Certificate if it properly utilized its human resources and safeguarded their quality.
Secretary to the Ministry of Trade Badrani Jayawardena also took part in the discussion.
