European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove is set to tour Sri Lanka and Maldives betwen today (Jul 11) until July 16.
The motive of the scheduled visit is to support the two countries in strengthening security, the EU said in a statement.
Kerchove is expected to meet representatives of the government, opposition, defence officials also civil society representatives during his visit to Sri Lanka.
In the Maldives, he is expected to engage in several Ministerial-level meetings as well as discussions with security officials.
He will also meet representatives of the diplomatic community in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
