Ex-Dep. Min. Suriyaarachchi remanded until Jan 7
Former deputy minister Chandrasiri Suriyaarachchi was remanded until January 7 over a threatening incident by the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Court yesterday (Dec 30).
He is alleged to have threatened a businessman by brandishing a pistol and also causing damages to four vehicles.
Suriyaarachchi represented the United People's Freedom Alliance in Parliament and served as its organizer for the Minneriya electorate before resigning from the post in 2017.
