A stockpile of explosives which was buried near a sea-side property off Coastal Road, Sainthamaruthu has been recovered by security personnel today (May 10).
The explosives were discovered by Police and Special Task Forces officers who were acting on intelligence this morning.
It is suspected that the stockpile of explosives were buried by the same group who blew themselves up in Sainthamaruthu killing 15 including 6 children last month, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the type of explosives.
