The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has requested the Government and the President to extend the public holiday for one week to minimise the movement of people until the situation is reviewed in one week and also to shut down all ports of entry to the country for two weeks in order to control a possible COVID-19 outbreak.
The decision was made after a meeting of the GMOA's Executive Committee today.
The Government has already declared today (16) as a public, bank and mercantile holiday to minimise the spread of the outbreak.
