Father, daughter killed in Veyangoda train collision
A father and his daughter have died after colliding with a train at the Wandurawa rail crossing in Veyangoda this morning, police said.
The incident had occurred when a train heading towards Colombo from Kankasanthurai had collided with a motorcycle in which the victims were travelling in.
Police have identified the father as R.S Chinthaka Silva, 43, and his daughter as R. Dilansa Silva, 11. Their remains lie at the Wathupitiwala Hospital. Further investigations are underway.
