Fifteen individuals in Ratnapura who were found guilty over the possession of heroin were fined Rs 10,000 each and were released on bail, the Excise Department said today (Jun 06).
The suspects were arrested during a raid carried out by Excise officials in Ratnapura on May 28.
While releasing the suspects on bail, the Ratnapura Magistrate ordered the individuals who have been charged under the Excise Ordinance, to be present before court on June 06.
Meanwhile, two suspects each were arrested during the raid in Ratnapura for the illegal possession of spirits and toddy respectively, the Department said in a press release.
