A Sri Lankan housemaid is on trial in Fujairah on charges of beating to death a Filipina maid working at the same house, Emirates 24/7 reported today.
Police arrested the Sri Lankan maid after suspecting she was behind the death of the Filipina, who died in hospital, the Arabic language daily 'Al Bayan' said. Doctors said the death was caused by severe beating as her body had many bruises and wound marks.
During questioning, the Sri Lankan maid confessed to assaulting the victim, but it was not clear what triggered the attack.
