A fire which broke out at a filling station in Anuradhapura in Galkulama, today afternoon (January 16) has completely destroyed the shed, Police said.
It is believed the fire erupted when a bowser transporting fuel became inflamed destroying the bowser itself and the building situated at the petrol shed, Thirippane Police said.
The fire was doused with the help of firefighters of the Anuradhapura Fire Brigade and area residents.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
