Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake is due to present the government’s first budget at 2 pm on Friday in parliament with emphasis on cost cutting, reducing the budget deficit and raising revenues.
Earlier on Friday, Sunday TimesOnline reported several proposals to be announced in the budget including a decision to continue with VAT and not replace it with BTT.
