The Finance Ministry has called on all stakeholders and the public to put forward their proposals for Budget 2019.
Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera will present the Budget 2019 in Parliament on March 05. Issuing a press release, the Ministry said that this year’s budget would be a performance based one which aims at building an enriched country with a strong economy.
The release further said that the allocations for ministries would be done based on the action plan presented by the respective ministries.
The Ministry said it "expects to mould public policies in accordance with the aspirations of the community under the theme of democracy, reconciliations and development, which are the main three pillars of the Government."
Accordingly, the Finance Ministry requests all professionals, scholars, the general public and those who are engaged in the sectors of manufacturing, services and agriculture to send in their proposals before February 11.
