Fire destroys shop in Pettah

A massive fire completely gutted a shop located inside a multi-storey building at Prince Street in Pettah this afternoon. The fire had originated on the 5th floor of a 6th storey building. 

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Fire Brigade dispatched 12 fire and rescue vehicles to fight the blaze. No cause for the fire has so far been determined and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
