A fire has erupted at a storage room at the Kekirawa Magistrate's Court.
The assistance of the Fire Service Department has been sought to control the fire, police said.
The police noted that an investigation would be carried out under a police superintendent while the assistance of the Government Analyst too would be obtained over this matter.
Meanwhile, teams of police officers have been deployed to direct traffic in the vicinity of the court.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
