The Fisheries Ministry has instructed all multi-day fishing boats in the Bay of Bengal waters to return to the country due to the depression in the sea region.
Issuing a statement, the ministry noted that fishermen who are unable to return have been advised to seek shelter in another country.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department, has predicted that winds between 70 - 80 kmph could be experienced in the sea areas between Puttalam to Hambantota through Galle.
