Five persons including a Muslim cleric who were believed to be conducting religious rituals on behalf of Mohamed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed who carried out the attack at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel on Easter Sunday were arrested yesterday (May 14).
The arrest was carried out after Police were tipped-off on some suspicious individuals who had visited a two-storeyed luxury house belonging to the suicide bomber's wife in Flower Road, Kollupitiya.
Kollupitiya Police had seized a drone camera and a three-wheeler during a search carried out at the residence.
It is reported that the suspects were arrested while they were about to leave the residence of the suicide bomber's wife who is under custody of the Criminal Investigations Department.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Muslim priest was a resident of Kotahena while the other suspects were residents of Maligawatte.
Kollupitiya Police are investigating further into the incident.
