At least five Navy officers were injured in a road accident when the bus they were travelling slipped off the road and crashed into a wall in Randombe, Ambalangoda, Police said. All injured officers are currently admitted to Balapitiya Hospital with minor injuries.
According to the police, the bus belonging to Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) was transporting Navy officers to the Navy Headquarters after all tri-forces personnel were instructed to report to duty yesterday. Initial police investigations revealed that the accident occurred due to the driver falling asleep.
