Foreign alcohol worth Rs 2 mn seized from French national's house in Colombo

Excise Department officials today (Feb 07) seized a stock of foreign alcohol in a luxury house belonging to a French businessman in Colombo 07.

The Excise Department had carried out a raid on the house following a tip-off and had discovered 200 bottles of the said alcohol.

The seizure is valued at over Rs 2 million, the Excise Department said.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect was the owner of a leading restaurant in Colombo.
