Former Minister A.H.M. Azwer passes away

Former Minister and MP A.H.M. Azwer passed away last evening at a private hospital in Colombo. He was 80 years of age at the time of his death.

Mr Azwer served as an MP representing both the United National Party (UNP) and United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) during his long Parliamentary career. 

He was a former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. 

He was also a former journalist and teacher.
