Former Minister Suranimala Rajapaksa passed away this morning while receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Mr. Rajapaksa who was a father of two was 68 years at the time of his demise.
His remains are due to be brought to his residence in Hanwella. Former Minister Suranimala Rajapaksa served as a special representative of the Prime Minister at the time of his demise.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
