Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse visited Welikada prison hospital and met MP Tissa Attanayake, today (Feb 9), Mr Attanayake was arrested for allegedly preparing forged documents, and later remanded when he was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate on Feb 2. Former President Rajapaksa told journalists waiting outside that he had hoped to visit Premalal Jayaasekera but that he had been taken to Kuruvita. When asked whether he would participate in the rally organized by MPs Wimal Weerawansa, Dinesh Gunawardana, Wasudeva Nanayakkara and Provincial Councilor Udaya Gammanpila at Nugegoda, the former President replied that he had not been invited and that he had no knowledge about the rally.
