Four new appointments have been made to head key state institutions after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa assumed office today (Nov 19).
Former Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera was appointed as the President's Secretary this morning.
Major General (Rtd.) Kamal Gunaratne was appointed as the Secretary to the Defence Ministry while Central Bank Deputy Governor S.R. Attygalle was appointed as Secretary to the Finance Ministry.
In addition, Oshada Senanayake was appointed as the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, the President's Office said.
