Naval officers arrested four individuals with the possession of 9.3 kg of Kerala Cannabis at three separate locations in Colombo yesterday .
Accordingly the personnel of Coastguard Intelligence attached to SLCG Waruna in Wellawatta apprehended two suspects, with 4kg of cannabis in their possession, near Colombo Fort railway station. The suspects and cannabis were handed over to Colombo Fort Police for onward legal action.
Another person who was in Wattala general area, was nabbed by the naval personnel attached to SLNS Rangalla at Port of Colombo and SLNS Gemunu in Welisara, for keeping 3.2 kg of Kerala Cannabis with him. The suspect along with drugs was handed over to Police Special Unit Peliyagoda further investigations.
On the same day naval personnel attached to SLNS Thammanna in Thaleimannar and SLNS Pussadewa in Wankalei rendered their assistance to Police Narcotic Mannar to seize 2.1 kg of Kerala Cannabis along with a suspect in Pesalei area. The apprehended person and drugs were produced to Mannar Police for onward investigations.
