Four persons were nabbed with more than 100 kilograms of kerala cannabis during separate raids carried out by security personnel in Jaffna yesterday (Aug 12).
Navy officers had apprehended three individuals with some 84 kilos of kerala cannabis at the Keerimalai beach upon discovering some suspicious parcels in the area.
The suspects along with the seized narcotics had been handed over to the Narcotics Bureau of the Jaffna Police for further investigations.
Meanwhile, another individual had been nabbed with more than 39 kilos of the same narcotic in the Ilavalai area during a raid carried out by officers attached to the Northern Naval Command and the Ilavalai Police.
Navy said that the cannabis had been recovered from a house in the area.
