Prison intelligence officers have seized a smart phone and two mobile phones from Ward No 3 of the Prisons Hospital where former parliamentarian Duminda Silva is currently receiving treatment at.
The phones had been discovered at a washroom of the prisons hospital along with some SIM cards. They have been sent to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation.
A photograph showing former parliamentarian Silva allegedly using a smart mobile phone had been circulating on social media recently.
Former Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Sampath Vidanapathirana, who is serving a life time imprisonment term is also receiving treatment at the same ward of the Prisons Hospital.
