The parents of a 20-day old infant who died after being infected with COVID-19 have filed a Fundamental Rights petition in the Supreme Court.
The petitioners seek the Court to direct health officials to produce medical records pertaining to the death of the infant since the hospitalization, death and disposal of the dead body of the victim.
The petitioners urge the Court to declare that the Fundamental Rights enshrined in Article 10 of the Constitution has been infringed and is in danger of being imminently infringed by the actions of the Health authorities.
Minister of Health, Secretary to the Health Ministry, Director General of Health Ministry, Director of Lady Ridgeway hospital and Attorney General are named as the respondents.
