The funeral of the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera will be held at the Police Grounds in Kandy on March 13 (Sunday). He was 95 years old at the time of his death.
The Thera passed away last night at the Kandy Teaching Hospital where he had been admitted after suffering a fall due to a heart attack.
Most Ven. Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera was elected as the 21st Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter on May 08, 2015.
Meanwhile, the Government has declared March 13 to be a National Day of Mourning in view of the Thera's funeral.
