Former Northern Province Governor Major General (Rtd.) G.A. Chandrasiri who was appointed the new Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) will assume duties today (Dec 18).
As a former senior officer in the Army, Chandrasiri served in a number of prestigious roles. He has functioned as the officiating Director General, General Staff at Joint Operation Headquarters until he was appointed Jaffna Commander in 2005.
Mr. Chandrasiri was twice appointed Governor of the Northern Province in 2009 and 2014.
